CHILD ABUSE: IT SHOULD NOT HURT TO BE A KID

Child abuse and domestic violence are linked in a number of important ways that have serious consequences for the safety of children. But with effective intervention and a coordinated response to a child abuse and domestic violence, battered women advocates, child protective workers, judges and community members can help keep families safer. 

Children can be injured as a direct result of domestic violence. Batterers sometimes intentionally injure children in an effort to intimidate and control their adult partner. These assaults can include physical, emotional, and sexual abuse of the children. Children are also injured – either intentionally or accidentally – during attacks on their mothers. Assaults on younger children may occur while the mother is holding the child. Injuries to older children often occur when an adolescent attempts to intervene in violent episodes.

There is a correlation between domestic violence and child abuse. In a national survey of more than 6,000 American families, 50% of the men who frequently assaulted their wives also frequently abused their children. 

Children can be adversely affected by witnessing domestic violence. Although many parents believe that they can hide domestic violence from their children, children living in these homes report differently. 

Through care and concern, we have dedicated to our precious children ABWM'S Angel Bear Outreach. Angel Bear was drawn in love with children in mind, a combined effort of our Ministry Founder and Director working hand in hand in prayer to bring this vision forth. 

His Mission, our outreach :

To bring a smile to children everywhere especially those going through violence, pain, and sickness.

Method: 

• To visit them in shelters and hospitals and foster care agencies
• Teaching children that GOD loves them
• To encourage children to pray 
• To teach children to tell someone about their abuse through our good touch bad touch books and storytelling 
• Above all else, to let children know that they are loved and that someone cares about them.

Friends, scripture is very clear on how much our Lord and Savior regards children, let's visit a few passages .

And Jesus called a little child unto Him, and set him in the midst of them, 

• Matt. 18:3 And said, Verily I say unto you, except ye be converted, and become as little children, ye shall not enter into the kingdom of heaven. 
• Matt. 18:4 Whosoever therefore shall humble himself as this little child, the same is greatest in the kingdom of Heaven. 
• Matt. 18:5  And whoso shall receive one such little child in my name receives Me. 
• Matt.18;6 But whoso shall offend one of these little ones which believe in me, it were better for him a millstone were hanged about his neck, and that he were drowned in the depth of the sea.
