ANGEL BEAR STORY
How Angel Bear Came To Be....
Once upon a time there was a shop owner who needed change in her business. You see, this shop owner loved the Lord and she dedicated her little book shop to Him and named it Heavenly Inspiration Christian Book & Gift Store. She had books, and all kinds of inspirational items. She especially love the children section of her store and wanted to do something more to make the children happy. So she asked her shop helper who is a very talented artist to draw her some teddy bears to make for a mascot for her little book store. She went to work right away drawing sketches of several bears, front & back and presented them to the shop owner, and the shop owner was filled with glee ! You see the shop owner absolutely loves teddy bears. They were all so special. Which should I choose, she thought as she looked carefully at each bear, then something special happened when she looked at the last bear. She looked at him front and back and fell in love! "This one !" she shouted with joy. I'm going to name him Angel Bear! So that begins his earthly journey.
Now carefully drawn & reproduced to give joy to children everywhere!!!
Oh, that little shop owner is Evangelist Janice Ward and the talented artist shop worker is A Better Way Ministry Director, Chianna Williams.
And this is our mascot for all God's precious children, Angel Bear !
HI Bear is a combined effort of our Ministry founder Janice Ward and our Director Chianna Wms. He was lovingly drawn with children in mind. The actual custom life-size bear is not yet funded, but it is in the works. In the meanwhile we continue to work on the vision, his purpose.
HIS MISSION. To put a smile on the faces of children everywhere especially those going through violence, pain, sickness.
HIS METHODS. Teach children that God loves them.
To encourage children to pray.
To teach children to tell someone about their abuse through our good touch bad touch books and storytelling.
To visit them in shelters and hospitals and foster care agencies.
Above all else to let children know that they are loved and someone cares.
My friend scripture is very clear on how much our Lord and Savior regards children. Let's visit a few passages of Scriptures...
And Jesus called a little child unto Him, and set him in the midst of them,
And said, Verily I say unto you, Except ye be converted, and become as little children, ye shall not enter into the kingdom of heaven. Matt. 18:3,
Even so it is not the will of your Father which is in heaven, that one of these little ones should perish. Matt. 18:14, And whoso shall receive one such little child in my name receiveth me. Matt. 18:5,
But whoso shall offend one of these little ones which believe in me, it were better for him that a millstone were hanged about his neck, and that he were drowned in the depth of the sea. Matt. 18:6
This is truly a stern warning and we must take heed. Our children are a blessing, they deserve our love, safety, and security.
Through that care and concern we are dedicating to our precious babies Our Angel Bear Ministry! Angel Bear is our mascot for children.
A Better Way Ministry Inc. cares about children and the devastating effects family violence will have on them. Child Abuse should never exist! Child abuse and domestic violence are linked in a number of important ways that have serious consequences for the safety of children. But with effective intervention and a coordinated response to a child abuse and domestic violence, battered women advocates, child protective workers, judges and community members can help keep families safer.
Children can be injured as a direct result of domestic violence. Batterers sometimes intentionally injure children in an effort to intimidate and control their adult partner. These assaults can include physical, emotional, and sexual abuse of the children. Children are also injured - either intentionally or accidentally - during attacks on their mothers. Assaults on younger children may occur while the mother is holding the child. Injuries to older children often occur when an adolescent attempts to intervene in violent episodes.
There is a correlation between domestic violence and child abuse. In a national survey of more than 6,000 American families, 50% of the men who frequently assaulted their wives also frequently abused their children.
Children can be adversely affected by witnessing domestic violence. Although many parents believe that they can hide domestic violence from their children, children living in these homes report differently. To learn more about child abuse click on the link
