EMPATHY...
As Christians, we're Charged to Care. The effects of Family Violence is far reaching, touching generations with devastating consequences. The two biggest weapons inside of this destructive reality is Silence and ο»Ώperceived Indifference.ο»Ώ I encourage you to join me in the fight against Domestic violence. Restoring families back to GODβs original design. I'm reaching out to anyone affected by family violence through this Ministry. If you're a victim or survivor. If you're a Pastor or a layman whatever your station in life I welcome you to this ministry. PTSD doesn't just happen on the battlefields of war. PTSD happens daily to anyone subjected to the fear and pain of unrelenting violence. How can you help? I'm glad you asked, become a member of ABWM visit the pages of this website we have a wealth of information on each page. Through our Awareness Campaigns and outreach efforts we've gathered various methods to reach out to victims and the faith based community to help end the silence of Family/Domestic Violence. We've coined the phrase βScreaming Silenceβ to help people to understand the oxymoron of Family-Violence two words that should never be together The word Family gives one a sense of love, belonging and acceptance. Violence gives the direct opposite emotions fear self loathing unwanted and unloved. Imagine if you can a child, a wife, a husband or even a grandparent living in fear of their own family members. Picture if you will destinies diverted. Can you fathom the inability to dream as a child because of the pain and stress of abuse? Love is one of the best gifts that GOD gave us yet through we distorted it, misused it and yes dear friend even abuse it. I will never forget the day when the reality of Domestic Violence affected me in a way that solidified my calling to this particular Ministry. I was talking with a young sister at my job and she shared with me her story of Domestic Abuse which was horrific in itself but that lack of help for her was appalling. The heavy weight of shame she carried gave me a sense of 'must needsβ an urgency to help her and her need for safety. Deep within my spirit man I said there has to be a better way. I'm happy to report that the young lady is thriving today through much prayer and guidance from the Lord. She found the help she needed and now she joins me on this battlefield. I was Blessed by The Good Lord to start A Better Way Ministry with hopes to help aid in the awareness and education of Family and Domestic Violence. I've had many challenges I must say within the faith based community. What I've been able to assess from over 15+ years of service on this particular battle field is indifference, I don't believe that it's meant in a callous way just in a I don't believe in getting in anyone's business, indifference. The comments that resonates most are β they must like it they're still thereβ or βif he/ she treated them right it wouldn't happenβ and of course the classic β it ain't my businessβ. Not realizing that they could be the very lifeline that someone needs. I know that fear is a vaild and very real factor, it can be a cause of inaction. My friend, faith can make up the difference! Scripture teaches us that indifference is not GOD'S way and it shouldn't be our way. Revelation 3:15-16- NIV (15) I know your deeds, that you are neither cold nor hot. I wish you were either one or the other! (16) So, because you are lukewarm--neither hot nor cold--I am about to spit you out of my mouth. I used this particular Scripture because it best defines the indifference concerning victims of Family/ Domestic Violence. We can not continue on this pathβ¦ Men, women, children and the elderly are dying daily because of this insidious fate. I have a brother in the ministry who once told me that people want to help they just don't know how. I couldn't agree more with that statement. Knowledge is key. We've designed this website and our outreach to help navigate the information gulf that exists between Faith communities and Social organizations. We're Equipping the saints for this type of ministry. Jesus desires that we have an Abudant life. A healthy life. A soul prospering life. This won't happen if one is trapped in a violent life. Will you help to set these captives free? The Faith based community is charged to care about our fellow man. In my particular faith My Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ taught me how to love, care and to be concerned when someone is sufferingβ¦ Our founding scripture is Galatians 6-2 KJV Bear ye one another's burden and so fulfill the Law of Christ. The Law of Christ is the Law of Love and that Love fills me with the compassion to care about the welfare of my neighbor. My faith moves me to act when I see the suffering of my sisters, brothers, children and the elderly. I'm on the battlefield. I'm in the trenches. I've held the hurting. I've counseled the confused. My friend we are charged to care. The harvest is plentiful but the laborers are few. Will you join me? So many broken and shattered souls all around us do you care? Can you hear the screaming silence of the elderly, women, men and children. I invite you to peruse the pages of this website you will find a way that you or your ministry can help.
I look forward to hearing from you soon.
In his service,
Evangelist Jan Ward
